I haven't seen one of those weigh stations in years and years. They were definitely wicked cool. Pretty much all that's left is big buck contests that are held at local gun clubs/hunting clubs/sport shops, etcBack in the late 1980s in NJ, the NJ Department of Environmental Protection would park trucks with scales along Route 206 so you could weigh your deer. Don't know whether that's still done. A lot more development out there now. Not so easy to hunt.

They eat almost anything. For years my wife and I had a running joke about the deer eat everything except the crabgrass, but they were even eating that this year. They were also reaching up for some of out 'deer resistant' hanging plants. That has never happened, either. They are all dropping twins and triples now. I can literally walk up withing a few feet of them before they stroll away, usually giving me the hoof.Same in my neighborhood

you are not aloneUpstate, for this Long Islander, begins as soon as I cross the Tappan Zee Bridge.
Nice rack of course but the body mass is what’s really impressive. That’s a lot of sausage right thereYesterday morning - walking casually thru the neighborhood. We are overrun.
