That August Itch

I talked with my grandmother yesterday. She’s in NY and said it’s been crazy hot there this past week. She said breaking 100.

NYC?

Hasn't really been too hot here.

Best wishes to Grandma Arizona.

Where is here?
In NNJ we had 5 days in a row where the temps were hitting 100F and not dropping below 80F at night. It was like we turned into Houston. The min temp for today is 75F and it is 'only' 88F today.

Are we talking about this week or two weeks ago?

Not nearly as hot this week as it was.

Anyone else getting that August itch yet? I’m not talking about the poison oak I have all over me right now but I’m referring to the upcoming season excitement. I just went into our storage closet to grab something and saw my new skis that I barely got to ski last season which gave me my first jab of stoke.

I’m not in a rush for winter but I know I’ll definitely be skiing this year as long as I can remain injury free. The last two years have been tougher than usual as far as that goes. I’m trying to find my new place and contentment with gearing down a level or two. Pain sucks!

So……feeling it yet?
I am. Getting some skis delivered this weekend! The hotter it goes, the more I think snow.

It’s been hot as…..
Raleigh, NC. ;)

Husband is trying to save the 2007 minivan. Got the brake problem solved. But the A/C seems to have died . . . again. With over 300,000 miles, no one else in the family has any interest in driving the minivan any more.

I'm heading to Lake Placid next week for the North Country School alumni gathering. Hoping for cool weather in the Adirondacks.
