Skiing's Future

A whole pack of 30? That would be intense.
Ya could probably out pace ‘em.
"Running speed may reach 27 km/h, and one author noted that coatis can run for three hours when hunted by dogs. Coatis, being excellent climbers, can be found playing and resting in the trees."
Three hours though?
Maybe just bring treats to throw them off and/or let em spar over.
Might work a couple times but then they’d wait with there tail’s wagging for when ya came thru.

Since it would have to be operated by the skill of the lowest common denominator, you could only have one person in a barrel at a given time. Otherwise, if you have 5 people in the barrel and one falls, the barrel will have to stop for that person to get up, lest they fall in perpetuity.
Which brings me back to operating the barrel. Surely you would have an operator for each barrel or two. Therefore, the staffing level is about 1:1, staff-to-guest. Impractically expensive.
The idea of skiing in a hamster wheel may sound ridiculous, but many a treadmill have been sold. That said, this particular idea should have been kept to the inventor's self until the obstacles like the above were better thought out.

I remember having the same reaction when I first heard about kelly slaters surf ranch concept prototypes...

Found the mention of the new indoor Ski World in southern China more interesting. Opened in late September 2025. The Haifa Ice and Snow World is four times bigger in terms of snow coverage than Dubai. The acreage is 25 acres, about the same as Appalachian in the NC mountains.

When are they just gonna spiral a frozen tube around a sky scrapper? The Burj Khalifa is 2700 feet, that's some serious vert.
