Ski Bucket Lists

Working up the courage. I predict some shade coming my way, soon thereafter.

Kitzbuhel
Wengen
JHMR
Vallee Nevado/Portillo
Bamyan, Afghanistan or Kangwon-do, North Korea

Kidding about the last two.

IDK about Afghanistan, the the Iranian national team cross-country coach follows me on IG.

It's not that good of a ski. More an adventure.
Ha! I thought for a second you were replying to soul skiing with Harvey.?

Ben and Greg’s 2011 descent looks like pretty good skiing to me. Whenever someone says NY skiing isn’t challenging I think of this route. The upper slide and the Dyke with its mandatory rappels is about as committing as it gets. The lower half, skiing through Avalanche Pass and back to the Loj, is a classic in itself. There are a few other faces in the High Peaks that hold some hairball lines as well.
Better know your shit.
The Ice Bucket won’t be taken lightly. These are Chamonix inspired descents that take patience, preparation and planning. Back in the day I would have just gone for it. Now that I’m more “seasoned” I know better. Most of it will be done with the help of a guide.

Not everyone knows but they do now.
I’d say Colden and the Trap Dyke are no secret to folks who are interested in (and capable of) skiing ADK slides. If you want company when the time comes to make the attempt let me know! ;)
