My sister recently visited an antique book store in London and these two were on display.

For yer viewing pleasure. First foto: a coupla nordic skiing books. One given to me by a friend, one I found at a used book store. I'll admit I haven't read through them. But books of a certain era contain training gems like Olympian John Caldwell's recommendation to quit smoking in September, in advance of the race season.

Second foto: Reflective of its time. Covers alpine, nordic, and jumping, as well as ski prep. In college, my friends Roy and Birger, (now both north of 85), were expected to ski all the disciplines. Later, even when he skied as a forerunner for NCAA nordic events, Roy also taught alpine skiing.

I just got back home after a long 6 month run of work and I finally got to hold and see Wade’s book, The Arc of Skiing Jackson Hole, 45 Years Behind the Lens and it’s absolutely spectacular. It’s truly a masterpiece collection of the life’s work of one the most influential ski photographers of all time. It’s worth the purchase I promise ya!

I saw this book in my local library, several years ago and It was so down to earth and impressive, Years later I read the book Lindsey Vonn wrote and I like this book about Picabo Street much better. A kick Asx book.
