I have read both of them. Excellent choices. Warren Miller was for sure a resilient guy. His first memoir from the old days is worth reading too- more gonzo and less heartbreak. The Edge of Never by Bill Kerig is a true story and a good read.
Freedom Found, the last book by Warren Miller, is one of the strangest books I ever read. He describes his whole life- riding his bike as kid, rescued from a sinking ship in WW2, his mother in jail, meeting some princess somewhere, his mother stealing all the money, winning a national sailing championship with his son- all in a continuous monotone narrative, as if nothing ever affected him.
