Anyone have any good ski books they can recommend? Either instructional or just fun reads.

I've read Lito Tejada-Flores "Breakthrough on the New Skis" and would recommend anyone trying to "Say Goodbye to the Intermediate Blues".

So many but this is what I could find quick

Lito's book I've re-read the most is called Soft Skiing. He wrote it when he was older. Made sense to me as someone who learned on straight skis but didn't have a chance to get in enough ski days to catch deep powder days until after age 55.

Skiing in the East isn’t for everybody. It was a make work project for writers during the depression and the quality of the writing and the information is very very uneven.Trying to match the old descriptions against current maps is fun though and there are some really good old illustrations. Of course everyone should read Ski Bum by Warren Miller and his first memoir which was called something like Wine, Women & Warren or Wine, Warren & Skis or something like that. I can’t remember.

Ron LeMaster's Ultimate Skiing. He is a biomechanics person who consults for US Ski team.

You can't get everything from just reading it, but it is really good.

Here's a couple in my library. Haven't read them cover to cover, I'll admit. What I find fascinating: Expert Skiing covers the gamut: alpine, cross-country, alpine touring and racing, xc racing, and jumping. Back in the 60s, in this country at least, NCAA skiers were all-rounders.
