Season Passes

Oh look, another special promo deal for WF! Is anybody really surprised?

If they're gonna put WF in the Mountain Collective, how about putting the Ho on the nordic Indy Pass? Hello?

Cascade in Lake Placid is on Indy.

How bout adding Belle & Gore to Indy to boot?

Rant: The 30% off partner programs that the independent but non indy mountains offer are useless as they only work for walkups. You can't reserve in advance (risk of getting sold out), and you often get that discount by booking ahead anyway.
Just don't even bother

Rant Over. Trying to decide the best combo for this year seeing as my kid will be solidly 5 but qualifies for free tickets at a number of hills:
1) Indy Only
2) Indy + Shawnee
3) Indy + Platty
4) Indy + ORDA FSC

Seeing as I have airline points I'm thinking of actually taking a trip out to Boise this year. Platty would give me Bogus Basin which would be a lot closer then soldier which is farther and smaller. @MarzNC - I feel like you have done this trip, would be curious to your thoughts

It's all pretty similar just depends on how often we get a place in the Cats, vs day trips to Shawnee.

I really don't like the management at Shawnee, but it is close

Yep, did an Idaho ski safari last March. Had 4 people starting from Boise. We had a great time in spite of not having the best snow conditions. I would go back.

We stayed at Tamarack in slopeside resort lodging, mostly for the benefit of the two cautious intermediates who don't ski full days. Although that was nice for me and my advanced senior ski buddy on the rainy/sleety/low visibility day. Skied 3 days at Tamarack and did 2 day trips to Brundage. The third day at Tamarack turned out to be 30% off instead of 25% off. Then my senior ski buddy and I checked out Bogus before driving south from Boise.

Haven't skied Soldier Mountain but we stopped by the base driving from Sun Valley to Boise. Has plenty of terrain if you include cat skiing areas. Quite a contrast to Bogus. Much easier drive to get up to Soldier than Bogus. Soldier has a few slow lifts. Bogus feels huge in comparison partially because there are multiple drainages, and most have a high speed lift.

Would you do Indy as an Add-on if you get a Shawnee pass?

The reason I get an unlimited Massanutten pass is that I get an owner's discount that means doing Indy Add-on makes the total about the same as a Massanutten Special Value Pass plus using Indy for a couple of Saturdays. Did that one season and it added effort to have to get the day ticket when I'm spending a holiday weekend skiing with friends with kids in school.

Thanks! Didn't realize Soldier had cat skiing, that definitely makes it more interesting, (though not included in Indy I'm assuming)

Which would you say had the most advanced terrain between the 3?

Yeah I'm not sure if I can still do an add-on. I bought the pass when they did the super early renewal discount in February. I emailed them.

I'm kinda leaning towards Platty anyway, and just finding some places now and locking in MLK + Pres Weekend. If I do one other weekend on top of that, plus using it for bogus it will probably come out even. Then try and use Indy + Platty discount at Shawnee for a few day trips with the kid

Wasn’t there going to be some sort of partnership between Platty and Holiday Mountain? Is that happening? That would be a chill spot day or night for the little guy.
