SAD, but make it hot

I am skeptical, and I don’t like to belittle anyone’s diagnoses, but it just is an article about people who have summertime seasonal affective disorder instead of winter. Not related to skiing necessarily.

Some combination of pollen, humidity, and general anxiety about social situations.

I am a firm believer that having a winter outdoor activity that you pursue (skiing, ice fishing, pond hockey, hell even snowmachining) will significantly reduce winter time SAD. And I feel the same about summer. Some amount of fresh air, exercise, endorphin rush, and fellowship would cure most of these cases.
I would %100 agree. Speaking from experience

They call em the dog days of summer for a reason.
Best to get things done early, then chill and rest up.

Here in NNJ, the Temp is 76F and the dew point is also 76!! 11pm on Friday night.

This is the stuff that sucks the life out of my soul.
Ventilation system in the kitchen crapped out thurs
Yiu haven’t lived until you spend a day in a commercial kitchen with out a vent.

Senior year worked in the kitchen in college doing pots and pans in one of the dining halls on campus.
The kitchen’’s AC didn’t work and the older ladies working in the kitchen in the hottest day of the spring semester.
were overheating.
We had nothing to loose so we just went outside and nicely asked the other students to go to the one of the other dining halls to eat cause it was to hot for the ladies cooking inside.
The problem with the AC was fixed the next day.
The older ladies thought we were heroes. We didn’t do much.

I have SAD or whatever you want to call it. I really don't like summer. I will hike, kayak, bike, golf when I have time but pre Covid I would work be working every weekend at our Lake house. My wife called it fun. This year I decided to help out in the kitchen of a top restaurant in my area. I am working 70-80 hours a week(both jobs and yes it was F'n hot)...to feed my winter obsession. I mentioned tonight...Travers Night(to any horse racing fans)...I felt a bit of sadness that it's just about over...but then I paraded my new(old) AT ski set up through my kid's weekend guests...12 staying at our house...and said, there were leaves on the road on my way home tonight! Ski season is almost here! I am coming out of my seasonal depression!

I love buying coffee in these times. My local coffee roaster is a hot milf who dresses in short shorts and is braless under a t shirt, and, it's hot as hell in there with two big roasters going, so she gets, you know, all sweaty back there before she comes up front to take my order..."I'll take two, please".

My best friend has it but he’s a lot better now, still a grumpy old man on Mondays.
He was thirty something woke up one January day looked out the window at the sleet and rain.
He goes into his garage and throws his fishing poles in the back, packed up and didn’t stop driving south till he got to Key West .
He stayed there for 3 months .
