The lady at Whiteface packs in 8 .....busy or not ....and if you piss her off - you'll know - ha !They used to load 8 people on the gondola and now they only load 6, if that. I've seen many cabins go up on busy days with only 4 or 5.

Loading the new 6 or 8 person lifts takes some effort from lifties, proper training and dedicated management. That kind of effort and commitment seems unlikely in todays world. They used to load 8 people on the gondola and now they only load 6, if that. Even when the AE2 has a singles line you always see more 2s and 3s than you see 4s. They also run it about 200 fpm slower than they used to, which further reduces capacity.
But then they would have to open the Ski Bowl.Won't the development at the Ski Bowl relieve some crowding at the main base area?
Yup. Blow the Dark Sideearly. It faces north. Also, someone should explain to them that, until at least one upper mountain lift is open, the real takeaway capacity from the base is zero.

Why not just pave skiers right of Cedars at put a parking lot at Burnt Ridge? Or pave lower Tannery and put a lot at Topridge.Since we are talking about parking - I saw a proposal in the mid-1980s that created a parking lot on the west side of Peaceful Valley Rd just north of the Gore Mtn Access rd. There would have been a lodge and a lift that sort of followed its way up past the current base of Burnt Ridge. It would have provided access to the main base of Gore in addition to a few more trails. The proposed parking lot/lodge location is about 2400 feet in length/300 vertical feet below the base of the Burnt Ridge HSQ.
Mike Pratt always said the parking was a limiting factor at Gore.
