Patagonia cuts ties with Jackson Hole

I'm so glad I'm a Carhartt guy
Ha! I used to be that guy. This is me years ago standing on Main Street Cooke City, MT in my siliconized Carhartt jacket and WWII tanker pants that I got at an Army Navy surplus store in Idaho.

Notice the snow banks are as tall as the buildings. Years later I met one of CEOs of Carhartt there in the Summer while he was fishing the meadows of Slough Creek. I told him they should make ski gear. “How did you get here? What do you do?” he asked. “I pulled a trailer cross country and now I live in it in the woods. I work, ski, hike and fish” I said. “I wish I could do that”, was his douchey reply. Yvon Chouinard is THE original dirtbag and you would never hear him say that. Patagonia is unparalleled in its commitment to the environment and social justice on top of their Ironclad guarantee. I’m happy to be a Patagucci guy.

The reason why we won’t face up to our problems with the environment is that we are the problem. It’s not the corporations out there, it’s not the governments, it’s us. We’re the ones telling the corporations to make more stuff, and make it as cheap and as disposable as possible. We’re not citizens anymore. We’re consumers. That’s what we’re called. It’s just like being an alcoholic and being in denial that you’re an alcoholic. We’re in denial that each and every one of us is the problem. And until we face up to that, nothing’s going to happen. So, there’s a movement for simplifying your life: purchase less stuff, own a few things that are very high quality that last a long time, and that are multifunctional.”– Yvon Chouinard

Patagucci makes good shit.
Too bad my friends and family take it from. me. But it’s for a good cause.
There’s others.

Good quality stuff
I have a 30 yr fleece that looks new

They used to only make super high quality stuff. Now they also sell cheaper stuff for the mass market, just like everyone else.
