Overcrowding at Trailheads

Coming back from Placid region today every trailhead lot between Placid and Tupper was jammed

We ,saw several obvious newbies that looked "toasted "for wearing the wrong gear , cotton non wicking shirts and no trail shoes / boots . The weather today was humid until the brief showers hit later .

Meanwhile The streets in Placid were loaded with peeps . Social distancing NOPE , and i laughed at the Theater markee which had this message " Wear your masks , you FILTHY ANIMALS " ?

I just returned from 4 days in the Adirondacks. The first night, I camped in South Meadow. South Meadow and the Lot road were a mess. Someone drove a 24 foot truck down the South Meadow Rd and found a place to park it. Lots of people had campsites decked out for car camping. I was fortunate that Whiteface wasn't as crowded as the peaks available from there Loj must have been.

In LP, most, but not all people, were masked up. Hard to socially distance on the sidewalk. An owner of the Ray Brook Brewhouse told me she got into a brouhaha with an unmasked party of six who claimed to be "medically exempt" fro wearing masks.

This is the 2nd diaper this week

This one is even more frustrating because there is a garbage can within eye-shot

Not that it makes it right but since that diaper hasn’t been used, I suspect it accidentally came out of an open diaper bag while on the move. Whoever lost it probably didn’t realize they’d dropped it. Did you pick it up and throw it away?

Yup. I threw it out.

You may be right, but it had some weight to it. To be fair, I didn't give it a thorough inspection. There was no recoil from foul odor as one might expect when approaching a freshly soiled diaper. It was 104 and bone dry. Shit really doesn't stink under those atmospheric conditions.

Yup. I threw it out.

Yeah. I haven't been bald for quite some time now... this is a more accurate representation. I think it's a selfy taken while driving to the ski area on a powder day.⛷?

I was considering hiking Robert Treman in Ithaca this past weekend, went on their site, they said don't bother coming, already at capacity, 50%. This sucks, going to keep canoeing for exercise.

I hear ya. We "patrol our woods" here in the Valley. There are thousands of state land here and obviously it's open for everyone to enjoy. Those of us who live here are in and out all the time. The amount of garbage, couches, mattresses, toilets, etc we find is nothing short of disappointing. We clean up what we can but it always pisses me off to see it. We have game cameras in some of the most popular dumping grounds with hopes to get a plate number. ?

On Debar Mt, I packed out a plastic bottle someone dropped earlier that morning. Nervous about picking up tissues etc un til I score latex gloves.
