ORDA's Biggest Mistakes

back on topic.

Lets see how the multiple mods to Gore gondi work out this week. I was told they had to add additional concrete around a few of the lift towers a little while back (that was unplanned, was my understanding....), plus the coat hanger doo-hickey they added to the tops of the cabins. What else? Remains to be seen in reality if the ski boxes are big enough....rumor is they're not.....

I was concerned about the ski racks. They appear to be the stock version from Sigma, the cabin manufacturer. Palisades Tahoe has the same ones on their Base to Base Gondola, and they don't fit wide skis. They were designed in Europe where skis are narrower. Killington and Stratton also have Sigma cabins on their gondolas, but they have custom ski racks that were designed for wider skis.

This is concern of mine as well. My skis are not that wide but I always had a problem at Gore. The Belleayre cabins have two wider, deeper slots. No problems there.

I’ve observed subcontracted engineer's work and lack thereof..
One of ‘em mustn't had a calendar, clock, tape measure & a functional left side of their brain.
Mighta been excellent diddling in Microsoft Project & PowerPoint, however.
They were also good at eating.

Retrofixing stuff afterwards is more expen$ive.

Ok so the one day load test has now turned into a 3 day test, as the looksie is still ongoing.

I looked at the ski/board carriers today, and they are definitely not as wide as the WF, K or Stratton slots, and they are on an angle which may likely cause an issue with a timely fashion of loading and unloading. Leave it to gore to first brag about the new "wide" ski carriers (as if wide skis came out a year or 2 ago:rolleyes:), and then have the issues of getting the gondola in operation, and now seeing that they cheaped out on the "custom" carriers!!! Truth is truly stranger than fiction, 'cause you can't make this shit up!:poop:⛷️:ROFLMAO:
