Attaboy@revsystems found a backup of the forum archives. I think we could have it back next week.
I realize that is too late for @jamesdeluxe but it makes me happy.

Why too late?I realize that is too late for @jamesdeluxe but it makes me happy.
I completely forgot about it but you're right -- that was a big PITA. I have many more to redo so that'll help, thanks. How did revsystems locate the backup?I'd thought that you had TR's that were pulling images from the archives with image tags, and that when the archives went down, you spent time to re-upload the images.
So the Archives can't be hosted on the same server as the rest of the site.
They are costing me $4.95 a month. Pretty cheap, the archive doesn't need anything fancy, it's a small amount of traffic.
The main site is another story.
When I moved the main part of the site a few months ago I got an "intro" deal, $75 a month, but after a year it goes up to $150, which is a lot for me. It's good hosting and we need the bandwidth in winter when the site is really busy. There's no way to pay less in summer, apparently. Do I really want to change my plan twice a year?
I said in another thread NYSB ad revenue is about $1000 in a year with good snow.
At $150 for hosting, I'll be underwater for the first time.
Dude on AZ was giving me shit for giving opinions on the Indy Pass, when I'm raking in Indy ad revenue. I've never taken a dime from Indy. I did take some lift tickets. I've skied with Doug at Jay and I hope to ski with him in far off lands in the future.
Can't you write everything to do with skiing off? Miles on the car. Tickets. Hotel rooms, skis. All research for your fledgling blog.So the Archives can't be hosted on the same server as the rest of the site.

Maybe. I don't really want to be a business. I think $1000 is the cutoff to be a business. I don't want to pay an accountant to do a tax return for 1000 bucks. Can't you write everything to do with skiing off? Miles on the car. Tickets. Hotel rooms, skis. All research for your fledgling blog.
