I worked there in the mid 90s and that was still very top of mind. Many of the same folks were still working there and safety was discussed constantly.

Any time I'm in avalanche country (in our out of bounds) - I'm wearing a transceiver and I give my extra to my ski buddy.

These backpack incidents are more common than people think. The recent tragic accident at Titus reminds us of how dangerous they can be. This one is the latest at Deer Valley.

Oh damn. I’m sure I’ve said this before but I’ve been yanked around the bull wheel by my hip buckle that got caught up in the chair. It was the one year I worked on ski patrol and yes, I was in uniform! Luckily the safety gate stopped the chair before getting hung up like that dude in the photo.
