Is it better to not know?

I’m terms of people needing to be the first to know about whatever, and their need to demonstrate said knowledge on social media and elsewhere….maybe it’s the circles you travel in? I don’t see that tendency in the people I’m close to. The people I know that do that kind of stuff, always posting some such nonsense, they aren’t people I associate with or pay any attention to.

When it comes to life in general, and social media, the news, etc…..I try to stay somewhat informed of the news of the day, or the latest developments on Omicron, or whatever it may be….but I’m with Rivercoil and others. I don’t get wrapped up in it if it doesn’t affect my life. I’ve got a job to do, a family to provide for and take care of, good friends I need to support, and a need to be a productive and supportive member of society, but that can be accomplished while maintaining a bit of ignorance is bliss. So yes, in some respects it’s better “not to know”.

IMHO that does NOT apply to skiing. Sure, an off the cuff adventure can be fun, even the experience of a lifetime…but if I’m headed somewhere I like to have a plan and know as much as I can going in, so I can make the most of my somewhat limited opportunities.

I don’t believe you?

I bet you know about the things you know about.

What is the splash mountain theme at Disney now that they ditched the Brer Bear/Brer Rabbit thing?

Huh?

Ummm, yeah….I’m knowledgeable about the things of which I have knowledge. Aren’t we all? Just because I have knowledge of things doesn’t mean I have some constant need to be the smartest, most up-to-date person in the world. What’s your point?

I think the new Splash Mountain theme is based on a relatively recent animated feature with a strong female lead, but I’d have to look it up.

I didn’t see Chessies or Pyrenees on there. Does that mean they’re not smart enough to make the top 100? Cause I used to know a chessie that was pretty f’in smart

Pyrenees are 64th in their list.
Chessies are in a 3-way-tie @27th.
The folks who compiled the list mustn’t know how to count. (as the next breed listed is 28th)

Dogs can count.
