Hickory may be back soon

Greylock gets around this because it’s a private club. Members and guests only.
Also - the ski area must be a privately owned, non-profit, and less than 2000 skier visits in the preceding year. This is in Massachusetts. Everybody signs a waiver that clearly states there is no insurance. I wonder if other states have something similar?

X you never cease to amaze me.

The point stands that they are having a hard time making money even though they have some natural advantages over Hickory.

Hickory was the canary in the coal mine of eastern skiing.
Until 1976, Gore was 100% natural snow. How many days would Gore be open without 100% snowmaking?

mm

If you counted Tuckerman’s as a ski area (which has no snowmaking), it would beat Killington (which has the most), every year.

The reason that Gore does not have the distinction of having the first ski patrol is because Stowe opened earlier that year (1934).

Gore's patrol was launched on the first day of season, March 4.

What is more “pie in the sky”:

Bringing lift service skiing back to Hickory?

Or running for Warrensburg supervisor as a Democrat?
