Helmets bro!

I am kind of amazed at how cheap ski helmets are compared to (horse) riding helmets. I am spending $200 to replace my helmet from my last horse crash and burn. But, I like the helmet and the way it fits.

Otoh, maybe I just don't know that much about ski helmets. Mine is a Lucky. Bum, fits great, and cost $30. I bought it specifically to protect my head if/when I get taken out by someone skiing out of control.

I don’t take many pics but do have stickerz on helmet.
They’re decals received from the Ruffed Grouse Society.
The feeling of flying while skiing does come at times.
Bird brained comes to mind.

Funny, when I went shopping for a riding helmet for my daughter a few years ago they seemed inexpensive compared to ski helmets. But I was starting to consider MIPS helmets that were starting at $200 back then. Plus ski helmets always go on sale during late season and over the summer if you aren't picky about color.

Helmets for riding horses have higher test to pass then ski helmets such as hav a stronger shell to protect against horse hooves , rocks etc and they have more protection in the back for backward falls
Costco has a nice deal on Spy helmets for 60
you are braver then I am around horses, perhaps it’s the old westerns and cartoons that show what horses can do ? , for me it’s the “potential “ of the horse,

There’s a whole nother hornets nest right there. I say if you want to listen to tunes then go for it. Better keep your head on a swivel if you’re skiing in Jersey though. Not all those kamikaze city kids know how to turn that great ya know. Of course if you ski in Jersey you’re gonna want headphones cause half the kids are skiing with blue tooth speakers in their backpacks. They’re not blasting the Allman brothers either. You gotta drown that out somehow.

What kinda blows my mind is when some dude skis by, or, while driving, and somebody pulls up at a light or parking space, and they're blasting some really, you know, gay autotune music of some sort I thought only teenage girls listened to. I feel like saying, dude, you own that song? You bought it? Really?

Camp, I don’t kill birds anymore. Last grouse was with a pair of Brittany siblings. Have hounds now. One good thing bout the pandemic is rescue shelters are running out of dogs in their cages as many folks are giving them homes now.

Bike helmet absolutely saved my life. And I go way faster on two skis than I do on two wheels.
