Gore vs Belleayre

Make sure there's no weird Canadian holidays if you go to Whiteface. I got burned by that once. I asked some women on the gondola why there were so many French speaking people there It was whatever obscure Canadian holiday, I can't recall which. It hadn't dawned on me that WF is pretty close to Canada.

We went to Tremblant for Presidents day long weekend on the company's ski club annual bus trip.
Fair is fair. Twas great fun and not crowded.
Cold as shit though. They had mirrors by the loading zones so ya could check if yer face was turning colors.

Belleayre is 78% open, Gore is 39% open. Going to take a long time for Gore to recover from that.

Gore gotta next blow big on Wild Air to support the WUG show. It begins late next week.
Last year they blew a lot for the slopesyle competitions but those weren’t till February.
Hopefully we all get some snow from the sky and the melting stops.

It really depends on which 40%. Lower Mountain + Northside vs all of Seneca, Dot, Alg, Peek, Yahoo and Bell Run?

Yeah I agree. I'd take that at Belle over just lower mountain at Gore and I'm a Gore homer.

I'd take 2000 feet of untracked pow down to Pine Hill over getting stuck in a traffic jam on the Thruway.

The boys wanna ski Friday.
Tried to talk them into Gore (Both have SKI3).
Their plans as of now are Belle.

As of this morning:
Gore has:
-3 ”mountain areas” open, 3 lifts serving 12 of 110 trails with 4 inches new since Monday & more to come.
Belle has:
-1 mountain, 4 lifts serving 19 of 61 trails with an inch of new and more to come.
Both being somewhat equidistance (<3hrs) with both great scenery for the drive.

If it’s up to me it's a no-brainer but I ain’t in charger of their's.
Maybe they’ll change their plans...it’s early.
They just might wanna learn Belle more as she opens up.
One of their other buddies skis there too.
I skiing Gore and ain’t been yet to Belle.

Belle is skiing great as of last week, but is much smaller. Less vertical, shorter runs, and all along one ridge. Also last I knew the lift 7 bridge was not done. Makes for a bit of a strange transition.

Gore will feel much bigger. Longer runs, multiple distinct areas.

If my drive was equal I'd be at Gore. It is over an hour further for me so I pick my days.
