Gore Mountain Conditions

That’s the dividing line on Gore. If you’re happy to get lost and skate around for a while to figure it out you’ll like Gore. If you always want to know where you are and the easiest way to get where you want to go, you’ll have a hard time there. It’s like a Rorschach test on snow.

That’s what makes Gore unique and that I love about it. You’re on top and want to go to Burnt Ridge but are bored with Cloud/Twister/Echo/Cedars? If the terrain is open, go old school Gore on Darby/Woodchuck/Wood Out/Pipeline. So you had to skate a little. It’s good for the heart AND the soul.

Yesterday I skied the afternoon and enjoyed lapping 46r. Today I was up first thing. Nice grooming on the front side for the 8:15 lifts. Twister, Showcase on down.

Brown snow and pebbles getting swallowed up a bit and blended in. Not sure how the mountain held up through the day with the crowd, but a great morning in the sun and finished bombing Sunway before the masses had appeared in force.

See my post on the Whiteface thread but man what a difference in conditions between Gore yesterday and Whiteface today. Like two different planets.

Today at Gore night and day from yesterday. 8 15 start was nice. Got two runs on Straightbrook before the every other chair rule. Unless they pick up the pace on snowmaking they are gonna need another Miracle March to go deep into Spring!
