Games of Some Olympiad

Huh... I had just assumed that skimo would be held at Whiteface.

When one assumes.....
Whatabout uphillin-downhillin Rumor and/or Lies from The Bowl?
Zoomin shots of the race from the dang drones.
Fastest wins and never forget the flats.
Could make good theater.

I remember seeing World Cup juniors moguls on mountain run years ago

Thinking about this a bit more.

Mt van Ho has snowmaking and brutal new trails. What it doesn't have is a super fancy stadium. For nordic events, every recent Olympics and world championships starts and finishes in a football or track and field sized stadium. For example:

No way you're shoehorning one of those into the Ho. And the grandstands? For the skiathlon, IMHO one of the more contrived events in skiing. Go as hard as you can skiing 10 km classic, make a pit stop, change skis, go as hard as you can skating 10 km. The ski exchange would almost certainly have to be in the old stadium.

Scheduling between cross-country, biathlon, and nordic combined over two weeks? That's something like 15 events, then add in men's and women's races. In 1980, there was a separate stadium for biathlon.

Again, not as easy as those downstate guys make it out to be.

Ya get my vote to be on the ORDA's board. (y)
Maybe ya can swing a free trip to The Alps this February, of course for educational purposes only...Folks there might even wine and dine ya. Their food & vino are great.

Thank you @tirolski that's very kind of you. I don't think I have the connections to get nominated.

Having worked for an Italian wine importer for 20 years, I got no argument regarding the food and vino. Last night, I made chicken cacciatora from Erica De Mane's recipe in The Flavors of Southern Italy. Yum.

Yer knowledge and observations shouldn’t go unnoticed.
