First Time to Gore Mountain

I don't know the precise length but Twister is probably like 1500-1700 vertical. For context that alone is about more than you will get anywhere in the Catskills.

Gore’s long runs are what I miss most.
Sounds like yer 1st time was a good one.
Tahawas is a nice trail and usually has real good snow.
There’s one headwall that’s steep but it’s not at the bottom of it.

yeah man, I think that is consistent with what I am saying. I think it is 1700 vert from the Gondi and I guess a hundred less from the chair, so Twister is probably spitting distance to the 1600? And I think in reality it is like low 1500s which would match Twister, I think (?)

But no way am I messing with you, sir. Ski you guys around. Getting ready for our weekly 4 hour trip to Johnsburg. Good news is on Sunday I should be at day 21.

Going to try to sneak into Lies when my kids are in the six week program. I may even hit Rumor, but even though I am pretty decent skier that thing intimidates me. The one day I skied it, first time down I went over the steepest part of the headwall. I still remember, almost 5 years later, on a right turn my right knee (inside knee) pretty much in my chest! First time I had that experience. Only skied Rumor that one day (two runs I think?) hopefully will hit it a few times this season.

According to WeSki app from ADK chair Twister is 1,490 vert and 1.6 miles Showcase shows 1,470 vert and 1.4 miles. That was this afternoon

From Topridge/Gondola Showcase comes in at 1,710 vert and 1.95miles

What way down to Showcase (5928’) for the 1.95 miles?
Is that down Ruby (2563’), from the Bear mountain lifts?

I cruising long runs without stopping.
Bear Mountain to Burnt Ridge Quad base is a quad burner.

Never did a cruise to the Ski Bowl but there’s a lot of length to get down there too.

Values are from the UMPs.
Does anybody know why the UMPs list Showcase and Santanoni to both have some length on “town land”?
Doesn't the state own the land those trails are on?
