Fast Tracks: Paying to Cut the Line

Starting price at kton 49$ extra
I guess more on weekends and holidays
I wouldn’t be surprised if walk up tkt approaches 200
At copper mtn a walk up will get close to 300$
Rich white peoples sport

In order to access this perk at Stratton, one must first be a member of the Stratton Mountain Club. Then there are add on’s to the membership, which affords one the ability to access the express lines at the lifts.
Do you ski the big K often?

Plus the line cutting bump
Close to 300
or buy an Ikon base pass for $600 during the summer ($779 right now) and have unlimited skiing at Copper. People who can burn $300 for a day at Copper do not have money issues. The rest of us can do a tiny amount of pre-planning and get some kind of pretty cheap season pass.

Of course
Just pointing out how absurd this is becoming

Honestly, I'd rather Powdr just raise prices then this bait-and-switch to the average skier. What pisses me off the most about this is they are trying to have it both ways: They want to sell the cheap mega pass to cram as many people on the mountain as possible and sell them burgers, beers, and rooms, but still milk the rich by offering them an "exclusive pay to play experience".

I don't see this working out. Can you imagine the jeers that Richie-Rich and his Bogner fur lined coat wearing wife are gonna get when they cut in front of the loaded-up crowd at the K1 gondola maze? Then for all his money, his kid is still gonna get mowed down on an overcrowded Great Northern. He's not going to want that experience any more then the average joe wants to be line cut.

Pick a business model. Either jack ticket prices up to $250 walk-ons, $3000/per mega-pass and make it an exclusive experience with no lift lines and open slopes, or stick with the everybody on the mountain for cheap, and make your money on the food and lodging.

Harv - IMHO this might be worth its own thread?

Good idea. Help with a title?

To me the question is, does an affordable day ticket matter?

My guess is yes, but that is just a guess.
