In the short term, upcoming rain storm could still start as snow before the real warmth takes hold, still a bit out to really see but a few inches of snow before the rain looks possible

Bermuda high at the end of the period
 
Buf nws is still saying a lot of uncertainty in the AFD this morning, and some of the coldest air of the season into next weekend. So there's hope.

Not here according to the buf nws afternoon AFD...
After
temperatures begin to warm Thursday night and across the eastern
zones Friday morning, the core of the system and associated
frontal boundary will send the mercury down into the teens and
single digits by Friday night. High temperatures for the
holidays will only manage upper teens and low 20s, while
overnight lows again drop into the low teens to low single
digits.
