East Coast Ski Trip Outside of NY

I know this is a NY ski blog but what would be the recommended trip for 3 days of skiing outside of NY? We went to Jay a couple years back and have skied Okemo, Mt Snow, Magic, and Bromley.
My kids are 13 and 11 and solid skiers. We enjoy trails but will venture into the woods too if the conditions are right. Was thinking of the usual VT resorts. Smuggs, sugarbush, Killington, Mad River Glen, but anything else that should be on the list?

Do you have to plan in advance? Do the days have to be set? Accommodations?

Could you sleep in the back a pickup? :)

Weekdays will increase your flexibility.

Probably don’t have to plan too far in advance. Just for accommodations ie. won’t be sleeping in the car? but would be ok with taking kids out of school for a few days to avoid crowds.

North Conway. Wildcat has incredible views of Mt. Washington if it’s clear. Attitash and Loon are close by. Cannon has the tram and Mittersill. Bretton Woods and Black are small and fun. Lots of options up there.

And to greatly increase audible type flexibility.

I say go to NoVT.

Thanks. Will see how the winter plays out. Hoping forecast of a cold and snowy winter comes true! But thinking Smugs or sugar bush would make for a great ski vacation for the kids.
The advantage of the Mad River Valley over Smuggs is that the kids would get to experience MRG and Sugarbush. Depending on how many ski days, the slow lifts at Smuggs could get old if you happen to be there when it's really cold or windy. Personally I liked the variety of terrain at Sugarbush.

The slopeside lodging at Smuggs is very convenient for families with beginners, but it takes a little while to work over to the main area for blue/black terrain.

There is a bit more variety of non-skiing stuff to do in the Mad River Valley than around Smuggs. Just learned that horse skijoring is a winter activity.

But then they wouldn't get to experience the #1 rated family mountain on the east coast, which also happens to have some rad expert terrain.
Smuggs for me ;)

I didn't realize MRG and Sugar Bush were so close. That may well seal the deal. Two iconic VT mountains in the same trip.
