Buddy B. Draining-em Boeheim

I know that Boeheim is considered the Bill Belichick of college hoops but I'm going on record as not liking him from the moment he took over for Roy Danforth when I was 11. How many of you saw games at the Manley Field House?
?

LOL -- my dad doesn't like him either. Says he can't believe the guy is still coaching. I've always loved the guy! He cracks me up in interviews with how nonchalant he is. Will always stick up for his players, and he's magical in getting every single bit of energy out of every player. Never saw a game at Manley, BUT I was in the Dome when Earl The Pearl Washington made the half court shot to beat Georgetown and Patrick Ewing. I'll never forget the eruption of noise when that went shot went in for the rest of my life.

One of my former Development officers at the college was Jimmy B's roommate at The Cuse back in the day and later honchoed THE ORANGE PACK athletic fundraising organization . Jimmy B is still that same guy he was beaucoup years ago .

Frankly like your dad Camp , he does drive me nuts at times and i sometimes yell at the screen when he needs a time out ( to regather and refocus ) and fails to do so .
I was hoping ( against hope) that Hoppy would have taken over but that ship has sailed . Poor dude paid his dues for two decades waiting for Jim to move on .

But all that said its hard to argue with his results and JB like you Camp loves him for being such an iconoclast ???

Ran indoor track in high scholar @ Manley on the banked boards. After graduation used to stuff the back of hunting coats with cold ones before dome foams were a thing. Ya almost could sit on the court.

When the Ole Miss Rebels came to the dome for the NIT Terrence B. Draining-em Davis went off when Buddy was still in high school @ JD. Wore 2 sweatshirts to that game. One Rebels, one Cuse.
Rebels prevailed in their only match up ever, next day Hoppy takes offs for U of Washington and we got 6 more years of Boeheim, so there’s that.

I’m the clown wearin the Ole Miss garb chewing popcorn. The folks sitting behind may be chewing too. No dome foam due to being NIT. It was a good game. Jim was upset at the refs at the end, so there’s that. Hoppy took off for the northwest afterwards. This year’s SU team is playing much better now and are a fun team to watch.
