Pete's is the real deal . We played in the same hoops league when i was an undergrad.

Pete's have been competitive for years . We were very strong another small but swarming D team when we played them in my senior year and they ate our lunch .

But THIS particular squad is very SPECIAL: tenacious swarming D , they MAKE foul shots , but their two most important characteristics are : 1 . They CONTROL the tempo , 2 they have BALANCED scoring and THAT D ...man that D and boxing out and their controlling the passing lanes is phenominal

This run is movie worthy .....think th eold flick "Hoosiers "
Agree on all points....
I will say this, they're very fortunate that Perdue's big man wasn't just a little bit more of an athlete. They were able to beat him to the ball in many instances. Had they not, game over. A dominant big man will always beat great guard play, and Peacock's are just that, great 4 guard sets.

That 7'4" Edey guy was immobile , awkward and Sloooooow in reaction , the other kid Williams had game and did a decent job and used his body well in the paint .

When Petes jammed the passing lanes and fronted him they started to neutralize him because the swarm backed up the guy fronting him IF he got the ball ........but jamming those passing lanes was KEY ...Purdue had FIFTEEN turnovers

i work in jersey city. The buzz is real
This from a brewery in my building...Departed Souls Brewery...tremendous beer

Gotta b a hoot to be in JC , i heard this am from a friend who lives nearby and was there last niite on Kennedy Blvd and the scene was electric .

Which will be my team, UNC-Chapel Hill aka Carolina. Roy Williams was there to cheer on the new coach, Hubert Davis. I remember watching him when Hubert was a player for Dean Smith. I watched his uncle, Walter Davis, play in person when I was in college at Carolina. :)
Whatabout Duke?
They gotta get by the swine from Fayetteville before they get a chance to go against their nemesis Tar Heels or Saint Peter’s Cinderella Peacocks.
I’m rooting for the Jersey City kids.
Should be fun.

Duke and NC have yet to dance together at the big dance.

Yeah, I'll watch the Duke game too. My husband is from Illinois but was an Adjunct Prof. at Duke after he moved to NC. He adopted Duke as the school to support in the ACC. I married him any way. ;)

As the #8 seed, Carolina was the underdog last night. I normally root for the underdog, but . . .

Me too Tski ! go Peacocks !

Certainly no surprises last nite but that Nova Houston Game was a defensive war

So what's yer take on Nova vs The Dookies ? Might be close , if Nova takes the air outta the ball, but im concerned with that Nova kid who pulled his achilles at the end of the game .

He was instrumental down the ending stretch and IF that damn thing is ruptured it could be tough but then again its March Madness and no sense makes sense
