Very true. Keuka was low especially from August on (should have heard the complaints on Facebook about that-can't bring the level up if it doesn't rain!) and the ponds are very low at our kid's place on Italy Hill.

First day (mine) report. Not a lot of cars in the lot-arrived about 8:50. Got on the lift about 9:15-usual first day stuff-contacts, how can I get in these boots, do I have everything etc. Open trails are the Loop ( a long green combination of 5 or so trails) and Upper and Lower Rocket. Did 3 runs or so on the Loop to try to blow the cobwebs out, then hit Rocket. Conditions weren't bad (for the time of year on manmade snow) and rode and skied with friends I hadn't seen since last spring. Sun peeked out for a bit, then it got gray again with flurries. Did about 10 runs-I plan on skiing tomorrow so saved a bit of energy, plus the boredom factor starts into play. Crowds were fine for the limited terrain-see how it is tomorrow.
Pond is very low due to our summer and fall drought-otherwise the guns would be cranking. I feel sorry for the Fullers-they pride themselves on snowmaking and even with just about perfect snowmaking weather, they are restricted on water. Natural would be great, but we need that base. Sometimes you just can't win............

Gonna be a while for me since I only buy 6 passes these days and will wait for most the mountain to open.
Ugh on the pond. Not the news we wanted.

Day two at Bristol. Sun and improved conditions. The Loop was nice and Rocket wasn't bad. Outer Orbit and Shooting Star are open and for SS you can either ride the crawler or hike from the top of the Comet quad. They are blowing snow on the Challenger terrain park-mixed feeling about that, but it will give the kids a place to go. Decent amount of sun today which always helps things. Yes, my legs hurt. I'm in decent shape for an old guy, but I don't care what you do-there are skiing muscles that you don't seem to be able to reach with other exercises.

Update for Monday 12/15. Two new trails-Nova on the backside and Upper Infinity (beginner slope) on the front. They are blowing snow on Comet and Sunset. Rumor says that the arial team will be there tomorrow, so the Challenger area will be open (probably not to the public). We're getting there. Unfortunately, not like Holiday Valley with their natural snow.

If the snow isn't on the trails then yes I hope the melting snow runoff ends up in the pond also so it can be put to where it's needed.Say it isn't so that anyone here would hope that it warms up to melt the snow (that one resort can fill their snowmaking pond)!!!
