Bristol Conditions

Wednesday update. A couple inches of wet snow overnite and warmer temps made for a nice edgable surface. However, they also produced fog-top of the hill was quite foggy and got worse. Good thing we know the mountain! Took a break around 10:30 and came out to rainy mist-not soaking, but the fog got worse. Made a few more runs then called it. Moguls are gone on Upper Rocket, but the whales are still on Upper Universe. Obviously no new terrain with the temps.

Thanks for the ongoing updates Johnny. Hopefully the rain doesn't over perform. Right now the rain amounts don't look too bad. Unfortunately we won't see snow making temps for about 8 days so hopefully what they have open will hold.

Bristol looks awesome today with the sun out and mild temps! I'm surprised more didn't play hooky from work-- the cams look pretty empty. Also wonder what's wrong the Comet Express (left) as they are running Rocket Triple (right) instead?

I hope Johnny is there today on this stellar looking day!

Yes, I was. Pulled into the parking lot and wondered why there was no one on Rocket and skiers were on Sunset. Comet chair was down. Throwback to the eighties.........take the triple! Conditions were firm early and softened up as the day went on. Gorgeous day with no wind or precipitation which made riding the slow chairs much more palatable! Interesting getting to the south side as the connectors aren't really filled in, but we made it with no problem. Did some runs on the Crawler-if you're going to ride a slow chair, who cares which one! My wife stayed-she's staying on Italy Hill and I'm back in Roch for the night, and she said they got the Comet chair going after I left. We sure are spoiled with the high speed chairs-I'll be at Hunt Hollow for gate training tomorrow so I guess it was good preparation! One of those days to kick back and not complain about first world problems like non running chairlift.
