Bristol Conditions

Drove down and bought our passes. I had a gift card from a pair of skis I sold on consignment, so rather than try to use that online, I just took care of things in person. Getting expensive for 2 passes and and a locker even though we're 70+. No realistic alternatives though, Swain is quite a bit smaller and farther, Holiday Valley is 2 hours and more expensive, the I-81 areas are smaller and 2+ hours away. Kills me when I can get a ORDA Ski 3 70+ pass for $269.00, but with the distance I sure won't ski nearly as much and it involves paying for accommodations which add up fast. Indy Pass? Can't get excited about 2 days at Swain and GP. OK, rant over.............

Didn't see it, but Bristol is working on redoing the beginner/never ever area. The current configuration is a weird double fall line (very little pitch) that directs the skier back toward the center of the magic carpet. It'll be a good change-we've still got a little boy who needs to learn how to ski like his sisters.

Have a great summer everyone and I'll report on any changes I see or hear about. Think snow!! (for next November).:)

Hey Johnny, Yup they've gotten expensive! A 12 visit prepaid card was $550 for the 20/21 season and for 24/25 it's $735... that's a 33.6% increase! I get it they've made some good snowmaking and lodge investments and fighting a bad climate, but they're also taking advantage of being the only real viable option for the Rochester Metro with less than a 45 min drive. Supply and demand drives pretty much everything. But if I were half-way between HV and Bristol I'd take HV 10/10 times!

Anyway for next season I'm splitting a 12 card pass with my neighbor instead of us each buying 12. Between so many bad winters and just losing interest in the same terrain over and over it's just not worth it. Plus now that my wife has skied at 5 different western mountains in the last 2 years she outright refuses to go to Bristol anymore 🤣

We just renewed our Ikon passes for next season for our western trips 😁

Keep us posted if you see any project work over the summer.

Enjoy!
Andy

Looks like we're going to get the IKON Base. They sent me a code for $50.00 which makes it the renewal price. We're planning on CO next winter and we can do Sugarbush, Stratton and 5 days Killington.

I'd still take Bristol over HV. HV has the amenities, but the runs are so short. Like the glades though-they usually get enough snow to open them up.

Hey Johnny, what's the $50 code you're talking about from Ikon? I got $100 loyalty renew discount which made it $1,149 for our full ikon but nothing else.

I assume it was a customer loyalty code because we had the IKON the past few years, but not last year. AND, I misread it-it was "Up to $50.00" so when we bought the base pass it was only $25.00 on each pass. We still had the $20.00 Covid year credit, so we were able to use that also. Probably would have been $50 if we got the full pass.

At this point we're planning on Summit County, and attending the Ski Talk Gathering at Copper/A-Basin/Loveland and we'll probably do Winter Park and Steamboat. We both like Sugarbush, and Stratton is OK for a few days and we get the 5 days at Killington. The only year it didn't pay for itself many times over was the Covid year-our fault that we waited too long to use it.
