Bristol Conditions

Gettin' better. Power grid is back to normal and full capacity snowmaking has resumed. New trails-Morningstar and the Launching Pad for the noobs and kids. Snowmaking continues on Nova, Milky Way, Outer Orbit, and the Challenger terrain park. More snow on Comet, still sort of marbley, but better than yesterday. Upper Rocket had some boilerplate spots. Nicest snow on the hill was in the Shooting Star terrain park and clear skiing without the park rats..........It'll be cold tonight so they will keep the guns going.

Guns have been and still are cranking. The backside trails (Milky Way, Nova, Morning Star and Shooting Star) are all open.
The Comet/Outer Orbit run is complete and Sunset and the Challenger terrain/jump park is open with huge whales. For beginners Upper Infinity is open and they're blowing on Southern Cross and Upper/Lower Meteor. Rocket is open with guns going making for "manmade powder". Conditons were decent-still some slick spots, but a huge improvement over last week! Pond is quite a ways down, but still looks to have quite a bit of water in it. Winter is here-only a month late!

Just in time for me to head west Saturday🤣

Thanks for the ongoing updates. I'll be there in February as long as the rain doesn't trash it next week 🤞

Enjoy your trip! I'll hold down the fort-my wife and daughter are leaving for Andorra tomorrow, so I'll take the 3 granddaughters down on Saturday for their groups and battle the crowds. Slalom skis, bright jacket and head on a swivel are the secret for survival..............

Sounds like fun to me. For real.
Skied with the oldest (13) on Monday. I reminded her that there was a point when she would whine and want to quit for the day-that hasn't been true for a while. Even though they are in groups, I look forward to seeing the other two ski. The nine year old got new skis for her birthday-her first new pair. Want to see how she does with them.

Would love to see a pic from your ski.

Nice to have positives to report! Guns are cranking on Upper/Lower Meteor and Upper Galaxy-I'm thinking they could be open sometime tomorrow. Very nice skiing today-guns and big mounds/moguls on Upper and Lower Rocket. Southern Cross aka the Jr. Downhill opened today. Comet still a little marbley, but not bad. The Loop and the backside trails were nice and very edgeble. Visibility wasn't great with fog and guns on some trails. Pond is getting low-to be expected with the amount of snow they are putting out. Kudos to the Fullers for hitting it hard while they have the weather for it.

A couple of new trails today-Upper/Lower Meteor. They are still blowing on Upper Galaxy now that there's a way to the bottow with Lower Meteor open. Still whales and moguls on ungroomed Upper/Lower Rocket-amazing how a trail can be transformed from a ripping groomer to a long thigh burning mogul run. Lots of fun! Pretty big crowds not too much deterred by the low temps, but there's a lot of pent up frustration due to the very late start to the season. The Morningstar chair lived up to it's "Siberian Crawler" nickname-the cold temps and wind made it not a pleasurable experience...............

Lemming day at Bristol today. Left about noon and cars were parked in the outer parking lots. Snow in Rochester and the people descend!
Upper Galaxy is open and they are blowing snow on Upper North Star. Yes, it got crowded, but it's good to see $$$ coming in. Conditions were nice-Rocket is still ungroomed and the moguls were a blast (although got complaints on Facebook). The should survive the warmup OK and we'll finally get a chance to race on Tuesday morning.
