This was written in 2010 . . . before I was active on ski forums.

October 2010

Climb to the Castle, the roller ski race up the WF toll road, is happening this Sunday. Jessie Diggins and Ben Ogden from the US ski team are in the mix this year.

First year that I'll be reporting on the race but not competing. Gonna be weird.

Dynamic pri-$ing FTW.
$crew that.
Apparently dynamic pricing swings the other way too.

Peruse the calendar on Snowbowl’s lift tickets webpage to see which days cost what. During peak times, like around holidays, or mid-season when the snow is best, lift tickets will cost more. But on the margins, in early and late season, you can find plenty of days when prices are $20, $15, and as low as $10.

There’s even a hidden easter egg in the calendar: On April 1, lift tickets are just $1.

As of this writing, not a single day on the calendar exceeds $100 — but that could change as the season draws nearer.

I get the feeling that Mountain Capital Partners is playing with their lift ticket prices to see what happens. Purgatory has $9 lift tickets for early season. Even in January the midweek prices are quite low at the moment.

My visit 5/18/25 to Snowbowl ticket and rental cost $44.00

I was thinking of taking the wife for a Gondola ride on the following weekend but hesitated booking and the price went up $20.00 per person the next day so they priced the rides as well lol.

We ended up doing something else.

Nothing to see here, folks. Move along. No stoke whatsoever. The Ho is all ready for the UCI mountain bike World Cup. Official training starts tomorrow. Today, I saw 2 cyclists with World Champion rainbow jerseys out on the road.
