Boyne Mountain 8 Person High Speed Lift

I remember watching this video about the installation of the Ramcharger 8. I had a feeling that Dopplemayr made a deal with Boyne Resorts in order to get a D-line 8-pack installed in N. America.

Here's a video of a typical lift ride. When the base is more crowded, there is a little more crowd control before you get to the gates. Essentially two sets of gates for 4 people, with a little extra room in between.

HSDec?
Why stop at 8?
For that matter, why not bubble the whole lift line instead of just individual chairs? I bet the sensors and other electronic components would last longer if they were out of the weather- and it would open up a lot of surface area for advertising. They could have a billboard every five feet or so instead of just on the towers.

I agree. Taking everyone up at once would be the most efficient. Talk about over the top, the massive screen on the lift in Big Sky advertises itself.

It’s bad enough getting on a lift with five other people lef alone 7!
Especially if they are beginners, so much potential for someone to miss count. I was on a quad load a couple years ago and a kid slides up on my right? Wtf !
I yelled to the lifty who hadn’t seen him , fortunately he stopped the lift. So I wonder how many times the “ High speed “ lift will stop or slow for Fubar stuff?
I have been visiting Stratton for decades. They have 4 HS6 lifts since around 2000 and loading is just not an issue.

Sounds like Boyne Resorts is setting up the senior management leadership in preparation for a major push for all the resorts in the next decade. The leaders shifting roles all have worked for Boyne for quite a while.

The COO for Boyne East, Rick Kelley, retired from day-to-day operations as of Oct. 1. He's staying on the Board. Started as a snowmaker at Loon in 1977 and became GM in 1998. Has been doing the COO job since 2017.

The current GM of Loon, Jay Scambio, is moving up to be in charge of Boyne "day areas," which includes Brighton, UT; Loon Mountain, NH; The Summit at Snoqualmie, WA; and Cypress Mountain, B.C. He started out as as snowboard instructor at Loon in 1998.
