Blue Mountain PA Conditions

I'd thought Alterra owned part of Camelback and/or Blue?
It's very confusing. KSL Resorts is the company that bought Camelback and Blue. Not the same as KSL Capital Parters, which helped to create Alterra. There is a connection but they operate separately.

KSL Resorts mostly has golf and beach resorts. There are several in Hawaii.

Clear up confusion using an LLC FTW.

What Stuart wrote is "Owned by: KSL Capital, managed by KSL Resorts." Bottom line is that you won't find Blue or Camelback listed by Alterra. But they are on the KSL Resorts webpage that lists their properties.

Stuart also noted that various improvements to lifts at Blue and Camelback since the acquisitions should mean those resorts are more capable of handling Ikon holders. He implies that the delay in adding them to Ikon was deliberate. Of course, weekends are a zoo pretty much anywhere in the mid-Atlantic and the southeast.

Went to Blue today for the first time in something like 10+ years. It's only 100 minutes from my house, and with the new snow they got I decided to head west for a change.

The conditions were actually really nice but what a shit show. 15+ minute lift line waits for Blue just aren't worth it. I left early.

Sounds like a typical weekend day for Blue when the weather is cooperating. I usually ski 8-10:30 on weekends. Complete S…show by then.
Except it was a Friday. I guess s lot of people have 4 day pres weekends

Good point about it being a Friday. It seems like folks make a four day weekend out if it anymore. With 15 million people within a two drive the non-diehard skiers will be out.

It looked like Friday was the most crowded day of the weekend, go figure. I chalk it up to Icon passes that were blacked out over the holiday weekend. Saturday morning's first few runs were sublime, 3-4" fresh over the groomed actual packed powder from Tuesday's foot of cement, about as good as it gets in peeyay. @PA Ice we're on the same schedule lol, will have to do a few runs one morning
