Bad Wipeout

Close call, it sounds like it could have been much worse. We had a young twenty something year old gal die here two weeks ago from a tree strike. Tree strikes are bad.

Glad you’re ok. Be glad it was you though. I was thinking some very dark thoughts on my hour long drive to the ER after my son crashed a couple weeks ago.
What injuries? I’m guessing he’s ok from the mood of your post, good to hear. I get scared sometimes watching Cody.

Saw a dude slide off the trail sideways on Powder Pass under the lift at Gore. Slid into the culvert on the left where there’s a metal tunnel for runoff water to go. He was OK but it took him a long time to climb out of that place. Could’ve been much much worse.

That’s awful. What mountain/trail? These stories scare me but is a good reminder of the risks and to keep a check on speed. I try to remind myself that if we are safe we minimize risks and that there are risks with everything we do and we take a bigger risk driving up to the mountain than skiing down the mountain as long as we play safely.

Glad you're OK. Many years ago, climb Mt Marshall in the High Peaks over Thanksgiving. I slipped and fell like 60 feet on a scree slope, despite wearing crampons. Scared the $hit outta me.
