Are you a picker?

I think I'm starting to get it. Can someone define picker? ?

There are other definitions for other types of pickers but in this case this one fits the best.
From Wikipedia: "A person who finds valuable items in other people's junk,..."

Occasionally I’m sure someone has found something of true (monetary) value, but with picking value is largely in the eye (or needs) of the beholder. One man’s trash, as the saying goes. I s’pose it should be one person’s trash....

The town we used to live in had established junk days.....everyone put stuff at the curb and the next day the town would pick up. You could drive around shopping the junk piles. I picked a thing or two in my day. Where we live now doesn’t do that, but I’ve put plenty of stuff at our curb and it almost always gets picked.

That was true in the town we just moved away from.

Very handy to have good stuff you don't need anymore just disappear.

I hate throwing away stuff that still has use, even if not to me. I’m sure we’ve made a few people happy with stuff we have put out.

The guy who runs our transfer station takes items he thinks someone may like/need/use and puts them in one certain area. Every time I'm there I browse the selection of items I may want. Skis are my #1, I've also gotten numerous items for deer camp. Today's pick was roadside. I damn near drove in the ditch seeing those boards, they're taller than I am.

Score.

Damn, going big. Most guys would be content to put a double in the backyard as a swing. What’s the plan?
