An uphill season pass option would be cool.
Yeh whiteface does that with a more limited schedule etc. Maybe in time there will be a more uniform policy across all ORDA mtns with it being included on season passes, uphill only pass option, day rates, etc and dedicated uphill routes at each. Would be a nice touch to mix things up during times of monotonous conditions in between fresh snow.An uphill season pass option would be cool.
Lol.Looks like Belleayre just posted on IG a uphill program that is during operational hours...I wonder if anything will come of this at whiteface or gore in terms of a during normal hours uphill route. Appears to be included with the regular season pass as well which is nice to see...
Perhaps this deserves its own thread seems like kinda big news with respect to NYS run mtns. I like the forward progress this could potentially bring if sucessful. Would love to see similar at whiteface, I’ve done some dawn patrol days but getting up that early kind of sucks especially when you’re juggling being there with young kids family etc and the logistics of it all.
Just curious, what’s funny about it?Lol.
How many people have the gear to uphill? How many people that have the gear to uphill, uphill?Just curious, what’s funny about it?
Are you saying at belleayre specifically as in the typical belleayre skier prob doesn’t “uphill” or are you referring to the whiteface aspect of my comment, because from what I’ve seen up there it’s fairly popular even in its current limited format. Seems like plenty of ppl these days with the gear to do it (seen a lot of tech bindings skied in the resort, regardless of whether that’s ideal or not) and it’s only gaining in popularity. Not always good conditions to do it in the woods despite that being the preferred way, to me anyways, but just saying a dedicated route, during the day, would be fun sometimes...How many people have the gear to uphill? No I like that they are doing it. I'm saying they are doing it as a perk for the people that actually do it.i interpreted you implied it might be a revenue source. This is awesome! Can’t wait to go. Do they get on the lift to access this stuff? This is awesome! Can’t wait to go. Hopefully it will be this week.
Very cool that they are allowing it all day instead of just early morning.
Also noticed that they set a policy for snowshoeing and will now allow people to download the gondola. Hopefully they will continue to promote access to the ridge for snowshoers and cross country skiers. Skiing to the old fire tower site and back is a nice loop. It’s nice and gradual and holds natural snow most of the season. The Sunset Lodge and Hirschland Lean-to are nice pitstops. This is something that could appeal to non skiers and since it is a lower cost is more approachable than a full downhill lift ticket.
Oh no ha! I ain’t talking about generating any dough...if anything I don’t wanna pay for it after dropping $800 on a pass. And it’s mostly a fairly small community of locals from what I’ve observed and/or participated in a few times...totally agree it would be a nice perk for the ppl who are already into it and utilizing the program. Maybe in time it would grow a bit and generate some money from day users, but to me, the best benefit would be doing something nice for the locals/regulars who would use it mostNo I like that they are doing it.
