The county highway crew put up some orange snowfence netting for the 1st time before winter started to minimize the snow in the fields from blowing onto the road. Worked well for a bit with big drifts the dang snowmobilers were using. It’s thick now and ya can barely see any orange sticking outta the snow. It worked for stopping snow but might need a bigger boat.

back on the roller coaster... first real warm up in a long while... then again we are getting close to march... it will be followed by more cold air...as far as snow goes, the crystal balls aren't showing anything of significance...

Montreal broke their total snowfall in a 4 day period record recently.

I remember going to their underground city in the wintertime back in the 70s. Made sense.

Big wire mill & a bowling alley had roofs collapse in the snowbelt in The UpState.

Days of concentrated lake-effect snow resulted in feet of fresh powder being dumped on several counties in upstate New York. That was enough snow to collapse the roofs of several buildings in Oneida and Oswego counties.

Sunday last weekend during the massive dump: the town truck passed through my hood once at 6AM. DIdn't see it again until 3P. I suspect that it was the very thing you mentioned, give the drivers time to recover.
