Winter Weather 2024/25

Wind is supposed to subside tonight but still be chilly.
Lake ❄️ bands might even swing south and touch the bumps south of Cuse.
Might be time to work up the courage to get out again.
Skiing is fun.

It seems like the Adirondacks/WNY/Tugg Hill have been getting hammered every week this year. Are they on a record pace? Anybody attuned to where they stand historically for that region- apart from NYS as a whole?

Don’t know how places compare to historical values.
Places were under a mile of ice ~10K years ago, ...

The Ho reporting 65 inches of snowfall to date this winter. Paltry compared to Woods Valley, but it's been so dang cold, it hasn't gone anywhere. 19 below zero when I got up this morning.

While I'm skiing Taos in low snow conditions . . . there is snow in the yard at my house in NC.

Also snowing at Massanutten, plus they are pumping out snow onto the tubing hill as much as possible. It's 15 degrees at the Mnut summit as of 9am on Feb. 20! Mnut is prepping for the Snow Moon Fest Feb. 28-March 1. May be the first time the slopes will be 100% for that "end of season" event. If I didn't have a show to attend with my family that Sat night, would be tempting to get in a bonus weekend.
