Winter Weather 2024/25

Some businesses closed early in the Tri-Lakes yesterday because weather. It's gotta be bad for that to happen.

NWS radar shows The Lake Effect tickling Boston’s burbs.

I found an interesting data point for how consistent temps this winter have been. Since 1980, Burlington has averaged 11 days above 40 degrees in the months of January or February, or about 18.6% of all days. This year, there have been just two of them, on January 1st and 18th. While there may be more before the end of the month, 2015 is the only other year with just 2. 2003 and 2004 each had 3.

looks like this might be the last system for a while...
The Catskills need a good dump. Can you look into your crystal ball and tell us when that’s going to happen?

LOL....the crystal ball shows Nada....as of now the rest of the month is a yawn

It seems like the Adirondacks/WNY/Tugg Hill have been getting hammered every week this year. Are they on a record pace? Anybody attuned to where they stand historically for that region- apart from NYS as a whole?

I don't have the answer to your question but while in FoPo the locals where saying it's the best snowpack they've seen in a decade. Maybe we're cycling back into what we like to call winter.

It's a record pace certainly for the last 20 years. Jay Peak and NVT too.

Woods Valley is at 260 inches.

Yesterdays article about Tugg ❄️ totals.
It just keeps snowing if the cold wind blows, till the lake freezes.
It’s been awhile for a good bit of The Big O to lock up.

Broader USA ❄️ totals.
