Gore Mountain Conditions

According to the report, snowmaking is back on Tahawus, Sunway, Lower Sunway, and Bear Cub run. So no effort to expand. Also, Burnt Ridge and the Ski Bowl will be closed tomorrow.

So they expanded their trail network but abandoned arguably the best trails on the main mountain because they don’t have adequate snowmaking to support the whole area, and now they won’t open the new area on weekdays? On weekdays now we’ll have less to ski there than 50 years ago.
OTOH they will have to bring back snowmakers to the main mountain soon because they need to start on the Hole Shot course. 🤬

They need to do that because even what they have opened this year was never adequately covered. This year is a complete fail.

All of you who posted your outrage over the last 24 hours - don’t you read what anyone else posts before? We’ve settled on the cause of this shitshow - management didn’t hire enough snowmakers, they are inexperienced and overworked, and they were given the weekend off after working 21 straight days! IT’S NOT THEIR FAULT! It sucks and it may not be fixable this season, but don’t whine and wonder why. We know why. Either go and ski what is there or vote with your feet and go elsewhere.
That said, the new toy at Ski Bowl appears to be open weekends only as in the past, and THAT PISSES ME OFF!

Enlightening thread -amazing number of concerns at Gore.
I think you're all just trying to discourage skiers like me to keep your crowds down.;)
Look forward to the Bone interview. Appears transparency needed regarding the challenges, the plan to address them, and what we can reasonably hope for regarding improvement over the remainder of this season.
THX posters, for all your insights/perspectives. Haven't skied Gore in years -want to check out the Ski Bowl and new gondola, and to bring young family members for their first "big mountain" experience. Goal: their first day at Gore is a great one. Based on the reports here, plan on hold for now.
