Park City Ski Patrol Strike

Joe Pampliano had a short video about this mess. No idea who Joe is but seemed decent.

Decent, but also missing nuances as Vail Resorts grew beyond Colorado. My biggest quibble is that the implication is that the $500 Epic Pass in 2008 included a long list of resorts. The acquisition mode didn't really kick in until 2012 when VR bought the first three midwest resorts (formerly family-owned).

Also puts too much emphasis on VR building hotels. My understanding is that what was done when Vail Mountain and Beaver Creek were established is not being replicated at resorts added to the Epic pass after 2010. Depending on real estate for profits was a mistake that led to more than one ski industry company to disappear. The reason Apollo ended up with VR was that the business model at the time was a failure.

Where are the NYSB lawyers, does this case have merit?

Not a lawyer but it seems like it would be hard to prove that a resort not having a lot of terrain open in December is extraordinary- even in Utah. You can’t predict the weather

We ski 2 runs and done quite often, by choice. That’s cool.

Skiing 2 runs because you’ve been standing on a liftline all day? Nothing cool about that.
