I believe it is from the Englewood Cliff fires in Palisades Interstate Park but it could also be the fires burning to the west of us in Ramapo Mountain State Forest as Tranquility Ridge/ Sterling Forest State Park.Wow . . . just wow. [UPDATE] went up to Englewood Cliffs to take a look at the fire first hand. Fire was burning up to the shoulder of Palisades Parkway at Exit 1. The Long Path had been acting as a fire break but the fire seemed to have jumped it. Fire crews were just wrapping up spraying water on hot spots as I drove past.
The smoke we are experiencing in the Bergen County area is definitely coming from the fires at Ramapo Mountain State Forest near Pompton Lakes and the fires at Tranquility Ridge/Sterling Forest. Pray for rain.
