Bristol Conditions

Great storm skiing yesterday. Weather app says 20” total. Hard to truly tell as it was being skied throughout the day. The Sunday night crowd is not afraid of anything, I will say that. Galaxy chair was closed due to some issues and won’t run until Wednesday. That made the north end ski really well with untracked runs through the afternoon. The parking lot around 6pm was quite the scene! I’m going to guess after this week they are done making snow for the season except for high priority intersections.

Made it over early today. Got there about 8:15 and was in line about 8:35 or so. Big crowd in line and they opened the lift early. Many trails were left ungroomed which sounded like it should have been great, but there was two or three inches of fresh on top of the cut up snow from yesterday and last night (yup, the Sunday skiers got the goods). Skiing was nice, but not the 12-18" of fresh that I thought we'd have. Nice soft stuff to be had on the sides of Galaxy, Sunset, Orion's Belt and the terrain park.

But..........crowds! Galaxy and Triple were not running probably due to the regular weekday planned schedule and it showed. Lines were to the back of the corrals and the singles line wrapped around to under the Comet chair (see my picture). Lift attendants did a good job of keeping things moving, but us weekday skiers are not used to this many people on a Monday!
We were there until about 12:30 when we decided we were tired of standing in line. Fun but tiring ski day. Tomorrow should be great. I did not ski Lower Northstar and Lower Universe-since I figured getting across the bottom would be quite a bit of work with the snow.

They are in the best shape that I've seen them in quite a few years and there may be more snow on the way.

Nice update and thanks for the photo!! That Monday singles line looks like a Saturday line-- which I'm sure was shocking for some of the weekday regulars. They got to slum it like the working class does on the weekends! :ROFLMAO: To be expected with all the school closings. But unfortunately they just don't have the acreage to have a powder day without it being all cut up in 30 mins, hence why I call it a piles day.

Really glad they're in good shape with a lot of snow. The irony is it's gonna be about 3 weeks till I get there as I'm heading to Big Sky later this week. Tough winter out west but at least they've still got 4,600 acres open. As long as the sun shines and we can cruise blues and greens then my wife (and I) will be happy :D

Lots of it was piled up from yesterday and last night with some fresh over it. Not champagne either, so some of the piles were pretty firm.

Enjoy Big Sky-we've been there twice and it's probably our favorite of the places we've been. Cruisers, glades from mild to wild and extreme stuff. It's bony if the snow is low tide, so don't go over anything with minimal coverage unless you want core shots. Have a great time!
