They are already there at Bristol.
Why not the facility in Lake Placid? They are already there at Bristol.

Folks are scheduled for a World Cup there Jan 11&12.
If they’re short on pond water, they coulda used the water used for the big jump to instead make snow on trails.
Hopefully they get some goodwill for their helping hand.
Maybe ORDA will throw them a bone. Might even be a first for a non-Hudson watershed bump. I think McCauley got an old lift though.
Agreed. Short on pond water. Summer drought. Kind of a lame excuse. It is clear where the resources go. Maybe some of the revenue from the aerials go back in to the mountain. As a Monday morning quarterback, I watched really cold temperature surpass early December with just the loop and Rocket to show for it.Quick trip to Bristol this morning as we had to drop my wife's new skis off at Ski Company to be mounted. Got on the hill around 8:40 or so. Conditions were decent, although foggy with freezing mist made a Ski Gee an important part of today's equipment (I'm always surprised at long time skiers who don't know about these). Rocket was good the first time down, but got crunchy and marbley fast. We were all set for a last run-came down to the chair and lines had formed. Time to quit! Main parking lot was full when we left and the aux parking had a lot of cars. Good for the resort, but no need to dodge people on the few open slopes. Guns were running and the pond had water, so there should be more terrain soon.
They were blowing on Upper/Lower Galaxy and Lower Meteor until the weekend warmup. There is snow on them and as the run the guns more should be open shortly-I'm hoping tomorrow. Yes, I'd like more terrain too..............Skipped yesterday and today, but plan on tomorrow.Does anyone have a feel of how close they think the mountain is to opening up more terrain on the north side? I would have thought Upper and Lower Meteor would already be open. Conditions report claims 3" overnight with snowmaking on Upper and Lower Galaxy. Looking like more snow coming their way in the next 48 hours.
Happy Holidays!
Good to know. While I'd like to say I'll hold out till Northstar is open I might not get there till late February if at all. They were blowing on Upper/Lower Galaxy and Lower Meteor until the weekend warmup. Worth waiting for as you have a limited number of tickets. With current open slopes and holiday crowds, plus the wind, I'm more selective than in previous years. Hoping to go tomorrow and see if I can drag some grandkids along.Good to know. While I'd like to say I'll hold out till Northstar is open I might not get there till late February if at all.
On another note I wonder how many people are actually paying day of window ticket price of $100+? When I informed a few inquiring skiing friends and family about the prices and they just about spit out their beer![]()
