I'll bet it would be more along the Prius line.Prolly a Subie.

You voted no?? That makes no sense.I was really torn on this one.
IMO: Of course Mt Van Ho should be subject to the same rules as Gore, WF, Belle. It just makes sense. And arguably nordic has less impact per acre than lift served.
And I want Van Ho to be awesome. I'm a nordic skier myself.
But it just felt to me that — rewriting rules so that a state agency could be in compliance with the state constitution — isn't right. There seem to be no consequences for years of blatant disregard for the law. And as Rip said, we'd all get our butts kicked if we did it.
In 100 years it won't matter. Hell next year it won't matter.
So I guess I'm ok that Prop 1 won, even though I voted against it.
On the upside Zelda didn't know about Prop 1, she read the two sentences on the ballot and voted for it. Can't blame her.
Warren County went for it big too. That surprised me a bit.
The Cuse rag gave a breakdown by county. How do you look up the county by county results? Interesting to look at. (Thanks!)
My polling station was nearly empty. They said people don't come out too much for 'off' years. The Cuse rag gave a breakdown by county.

New York approves Proposal 1, the Adirondack Park land swap
New York voters narrowly approved Proposal 1, a constitutional amendment to protect 2,500 acres of the Forest Preserve, which was passed despite slim margins and confusion over the ballot language.www.localsyr.com
Yes won by ~145,000 (4.0 %) outta ~3.6 million ballots total.
~12% were either blank or colored in for both yes & no.
Too much winning.
Pretty much the same for ours. This year was an exception because of a heated race for hwy superintendent. My polling station was nearly empty. They said people don't come out too much for 'off' years.
Agreed. It would be more meaningful to have votes limited to people within a certain distance of Mt Ho. Why should people in buffalo or Long Island be voting on this. I can see a state wide vote for a major constitutional questionThe bigger problem is that this type of transaction should not be subject to statewide popular vote.
So this was decided by NYC residents who were at the polls to vote for mayor. That may have also been by design. My polling station was nearly empty. They said people don't come out too much for 'off' years.
It was not decided by NYC residents. Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Richmond (Staten Island) Counties voted against it.So this was decided by NYC residents who were at the polls to vote for mayor. That may have also been by design.

All of the 12 counties in the Adirondack Park voted in favor. Essex County, where Van Ho is, had one of the highest percentages at 63%.It would be more meaningful to have votes limited to people within a certain distance of Mt Ho.
Why do ya think the NYC folks voted against it?It was not decided by NYC residents. Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Richmond (Staten Island) Counties voted against it.
One NYC voter that I know voted against it because they said it sets a bad precedent for retroactive voting. Why do ya think the NYC folks voted against it?
