ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

You owned all Japanese vehicles. Now you own the leader in recalls and repairs.

While this is true, it has little bearing on maintenance costs ICE vs hybrid.

Drift, but what I don't get is why Ford seems to make the business decision to fall into that category. It has been happening for years (decades) as far as I can tell, so that suggests to me that to some degree it is either part of their culture or their business plan. Camp - any intel or view from the car industry?

So driving 68mph and keeping your cabin heat turned down so it’s not comfy gets you better range? No thanks. I will keep pumping gas.
It really depends on the car and how aerodynamic it is. While cool looking, Rivians have a drag coefficient of .32 while a Model Y has a .22 coefficient. A Lucid Air is under .2

I haven't directly measured it but I usually drive ~ 75 on the highway and I don't lose that my range in Y

It seems suspiciously way too cheap, but I pulled the trigger on a winter wheel + tire package for the Y:

Going from 19s to 18s should make the ride a little softer and possibly add a bit of range. I still have the Alltrack, but I love having Full Self Driving on long drives. Makes such a huge difference

I believe most manufactures simply consider it as a cost of doing business. Shit's gonna break.

Stellantis (Chrysler) will soon be, if not already, the trophy winner when it comes to recalls. Recalls are going to happen. Parts availability to fix said recalls is currently where the issue is.

Yeah I don't do any of that. I have a gasser when I want to slum it, 😂. I use gas when I have to go long distances.

Driving fast and blasting the heat/AC also decreases range and efficiency in gas car BTW
