Listened on the way to the Berkshires last weekend. Appreciated that Bob (Robert?) is interested in learning about stuff he has had no need to pay attention to before. He's a good host.

The question that came to mind was whether or not you had ever listened to the podcasts that Katz did as CEO of VR the first time. It's called Epic By Nature, started in November 2018, and still available from podcast sources such as Apple Podcasts. VR kept publishing new episodes until September 2021. In May 2020 a 3-part series was done just about the pandemic.

I recently listened again to the episodes about snowmaking, ski patrol, and integrating newly acquired resorts. In general, the episodes from 2019 were the most interesting to me. While that's not that long ago, the global ski industry feels very different for assorted reasons.

Katz is a narrator, not an interviewer. I would guess he was more involved for a topic for which he had relevant expertise and provided more direct executive management leadership. However, my sense is that he was involved in writing all the "scripts" for what he said. Probably was curious to learn more about the topics covered that were directly related to operations.

Worth listening to the vey end of the ski patrol episode from April 2019. He clearly has personal respect for ski patrol.

Turns out that Epic by Nature podcasts were revived. The first two were released on Oct. 8, 2025. Different format, in particular they will be shorter, 10-15 minutes instead of about 30 minutes. May even have a live conversation at times.
 
Stuart recently released a podcast with the CEO of National Ski Patrol. She's been in the role since 2022.

How about a discussion with a NY patroller? Could you find a paid patroller and a volunteer patroller?
