Anyone... what do I do able rain dripping of the roof that splashes on the house?

My buddy with a metal roof put a line of stone on the ground under the where the water comes off the roof. Works fine and the water drains through the stones. You could put perforated pipe under that if it puddles to drain it off away from the house.

I'm honestly not sure as I don't have a metal roof. Friends of mine do and they swear by them, so my gut tells me yes.

I think we need an engineer for your second question. All I'll point out is the ADK is full of metal roofs and it's snowed there for years and years.
