First time reading about this particular catch, I’ve seen this type of fish caught if the story is true about using 2 pound test was totally insane. 2 pound test is as thin as sewing thread. Also that fish has a gazillion teeth.

It is indeed a snakehead. They have been found in NYS, in a lake in Queens and in a stream in Wawayanda, Orange County.
